Independent superyacht market intelligence and valuation tool for the 24m+ professionally brokered market. Published by Andrew Williams, marine surveyor with 38 years of industry experience and an MBA from Warwick Business School.
Estimate the market value of a superyacht using an independent price model calibrated against 291 motor yacht listings and 59 sailing yacht listings across seven major brokerages. The motor model achieves R²=0.917 — comparable to published residential property indices. Inputs: LOA, year built, and builder tier. Output: asking price estimate with ±1 standard deviation range and estimated transaction price.
Q1 2026 established the baseline index of 100.0; the Q2 2026 edition reads 100.7 (+0.7%), an essentially flat quarter for the professionally brokered market. Dataset covers 291 motor and 59 sail listings from Burgess Yachts, Camper & Nicholsons, Edmiston, Fraser Yachts, Y.CO, Denison Yachting, and Moran Yacht & Ship. Model-sample fleet value: motor €6.5bn + sail €0.64bn = €7.1bn asking.
Empirical depreciation curves derived from the hedonic model show approximately 7.1% annual value loss from new, decelerating with age. All builder tiers follow identical depreciation trajectories — the builder premium is applied as a multiplier at point of sale, not as a depreciation rate modifier.
